Yang Hyun Suk Says It’s On Between Su:Pearls and Park Ji Min This Fall

Yang Hyun Suk is throwing the gloves down and saying it’s on between the Su:Pearls and Park Ji Min.

In the July 11 episode of SBS’ One Night of TV Entertainment the judges of K-Pop Star, Yang Hyun Suk, Park Jin Young and BoA appeared during a segment.

During the interview segment, Park Jin Young gushed over Baek Ah Yeon, Park Jae Hyung and Park Jin Min, the fresh JYP recruits from the first season of the show saying, “I worried if the kids would be able to adjust well with JYP’s already in-place trainees. But they adjusted well and are practicing hard and preparing with a lot of vigor.”

Yang Hyun Suk also shared on his Su:Pearls, comprised of contestants Lee Michelle, Lee Seung Joo, Lee Jung Mi and Lee Ha Yi, saying, “I know Su:Pearls and Park Ji Min will be debuting around the same time,” then brought the friendly rivalry up a notch saying, “We will prepare to see who will win in the end.”

Amid the friendly competition, the production team then asked BoA who she thought would win in the sensitive topic to which she made everyone laugh by saying, “I will be releasing an album first so let’s make sure I do well first.”

YG Entertainment Revives Su:Pearls; Signs On ‘K-Pop Stars’ Lee Jung Mi, Lee Seung Joo

YG has revealed its mystery final two signed members from K-Pop Star.

On May 23, YG Entertainment posted on its YG blog which revealed the final two to come on board were Lee Jung Mi and Lee Seung Joo. 

In addition, it was revealed Lee Jung Mi and Lee Seung Joo, along with the previously cast Lee Ha Yi and Lee Michelle would form and debut as a group in a revival of the ‘Su:Pearls.’

The Su:Pearls was a team that was originally comprised of Lee Michelle, Lee Jung Mi, Lee Seung Joo and K-Pop Star’s winner, Park Ji Min, and made headlines for their rendition of Fame and SNSD’s The Boys. 

Though original member Park Ji Min signed with JYP Entertainment, it was revealed first place runner-up Lee Ha Yi would take her spot as a member of the revived Su:Pearls. In addition, YG said it planned to release a solo album for Lee Ha Yi as well.

Regarding the new Su:Pearls, a YG Entertainment representative said, “We plan to continue to use the Su:Pearls name but haven’t decided if Lee Ha Yi’s solo album will come out first or if the Su:Pearls will. Of course, we are contemplating the solo acts of the other [Su:Pearls] members as well.”
